No stage moves because somebody said so on the phone. It moves because the work was posted, looked at, and signed off inside UnderContract.
The contractor sets out the scope, the price and the draw schedule. The homeowner reads it and accepts it. Neither side starts work until both have signed it.
Photos and notes go against the stage they belong to, dated and attributed, so what was done and when stops being a matter of memory.
The client, or whoever is authorized to sign on their behalf, opens the photos and either approves that stage or returns it with a written reason. Nothing is finalized and no draw is due until the person authorized to approve has reviewed and confirmed.
Payment is made directly between the authorized parties on both the contractor and client end and recorded in the app in conjunction with the approved job.
How you know who signed. Nobody reaches a signature or an approval without a code emailed to their own address and typed back, so every name on the record carries that verified address, the date, the time and the network it came from. Either side can add a photo of themselves at the moment they sign, taken on the spot, and it is filed on the signature where it cannot be swapped afterwards.
For a company or a contractor authorized to run jobs in UnderContract. No cost for the authorized client, and no cost for additional contractors, subcontractors or anyone else attached to the contracting company who cannot authorize a scope of work or a job.
Draws are paid directly between the client and the contractor, the way they already pay each other: check, Zelle, bank transfer, card or cash. Each one is recorded here against the stage it paid for, with the reference number, and the contractor confirms it arrived. UnderContract never holds, moves or releases the money itself.
Each contractor says which of these they take, and their client sees it on the job before a draw is due.
UnderContract is a record. The contract on a job is an agreement between the contractor and the client, and only between them. UnderContract is not a party to it, does not perform any of the work, and does not guarantee, insure, bond, license or vouch for either side.
